What a Sport

Brian Kritz recently posted some older signed Sport magazines for sale on a Facebook group. I have purchased items from Brian in the past and he does a great job on things.
The package I received today included:
02.1952 Al Dark
05.1953 Bob Lemon
02.1955 Al Dark
05.1959 Hank Bauer @ 2

These guys all signed through the mail but I did not get into Sport magazines until after they passed away so it was real nice to be able to add these to my magazine collection.

Ahh Nuts!

Today’s mail brought in a fun pair of items. Jerry D, via a Facebook group, posted that his father used to work with Gaylord Perry and he had a number of burlap peanut bags from Gaylord’s peanut farm that were signed and he was offering them for sale. I purchased a pair and they arrived today. Pretty cool oddball item for the collection!

Kitty Kaat

Mike Macguire is the autograph agent for Jim Kaat and does an amazing job with items for collectors. I recently acquired a 2022 HOF Induction ticket and sent it to Mike to have Jim sign it. They met up in Cooperstown for the Hall of Fame weekend and signed the ticket. It was signed exactly where I requested it and looks great! Now to add Tony O and Big Papi…

3000th Hit

A while ago I had sent a ticket to Tom O (orr23mj on SCN) for a private signing he was going to have with Dave Winfield. It was a ticket from his 3,000th hit game. It was the first of three 3,000th hits I saw in person and remember it like yesterday. I had my second ticket I bought from that game signed at Twinsfest years ago but he did not inscribe 3,000th hit so when I saw Tom was going to see him, I sent in my ticket. As luck would have it, I got it back but he forgot the inscription. Tom was cool and told me to send it back to him and he would get Dave to add it next time he saw him. Today it arrived with “3000th Hit”. I was a little nervous since the marker tip might be different or the color or anything else that might look like it was not signed and inscribed at the same time but Tom did an awesome job matching it up. You cannot tell that the signature and inscription were signed around four months apart! I am excited to have this in my collection!
