Garv-Sauce

Mitch Garver has had a few private signings over the recent years and in those I participated in, I never sent in the 2021 Topps Heritage #449 card. Not sure why or why I did not have one but this time around I did send it in and it arrived back today! Darrell Halk (thehalk on SCN) provided the signing. This completes my Topps and Topps Heritage runs for Mitch. I have a few Topps Now cards that need to be signed but not anytime soon. My card is the one towards the bottom of the picture that is in the white cardboard protector.

My Colon!

On April 18, 2012, Bartolo Colon had a heck of a game throwing strikes. At one point, he threw thirty-eight straight strikes and for the game he threw eighty-two out of his one hundred two pitches for strikes. Who knows if this record will be broken but for now, I enjoyed obtaining a ticket and sending it to Chris R (rifon on SCN) to have it signed at a recent signing. Bartolo included “38 straight strikes” on it as well. Fun little ticket!

A Derby Champ!

My family was fortunate to have all four of us go to the 2014 Baseball All Star Game at Target Field. Along with that was having the ticket strips. I had gotten Joey Gallo to sign the Futures Game ticket with MVP on two strips long ago. I decided not to send them to get Mike Trout’s signature on the All Star Game ticket until I got Yoenis Cespedes on the Home Run Derby ticket. I kept my eye out for a signing with him since 2014 and one finally showed up so I sent the two ticket strips in to Chris R (rifon on SCN) to get ’em done. I received them back today signed beautifully in nice silver paint pen with “HRD Champ” on each. These are awesome keepsakes for the kids. They will be even cooler once I get Mike Trout to sign ’em and finish ’em!

Bizarro Baseball!

The May 26, 2008 Sports Illustrated magazine features a cartoonish, comic book like cover that was painted by Mark Bagley. It features Carl Crawford throwing Derek Jeter in the air while a bewildered Superman looks on. I noticed Chris R (rifon on SCN) had a RARE signing with Mark but there was also a rare signing with Carl Crawford happening about a week apart. If you follow this silly blog, you will notice I have gone through Chris a number of times for autographs so I asked if it would be possible to have him get Mark to sign it and get it to the show for Carl in time. He said he would try. Today the magazine showed up signed beautifully by both. Both signatures have holograms on the inside of the cover too!
