Boooooooooog

Just before I went on my summer baseball trip that included a game at Camden Yards in Baltimore, I looked for some Boog Powell items to bring along as I heard he signed at “Boog’s BBQ Pit” inside the stadium. He was not there when we were but I did have a tasty BBQ sandwich though! I checked and Boog had a signing listed at The Dugout Zone in Baltimore so I sent all the items in. Today they arrived! A friend of mine sent me a couple postcards from Boog’s playing days when he heard I was going to look for Boog at the ballpark. I got those two signed as well as the following magazines:
04.1970 All Star Sports (Jerry Koosman is on the cover so I may need to send it to him to finish it)
06.1971 Sport
1971 Maco Sports Baseball Guidebook
Everything is signed great!

Not Bogged Down

I will admit that I have sent to Wade Boggs too many times. I do, however, send a significant amount of cash in each package. Today I received a couple items that are duplicates but items I acquired only for the reason to get signed for my collection. I received a 3,000th hit commemorative card as well as a February, 1984 Baseball Digest. These are both duplicates but it was either get them signed and save them or toss them. They are still very nice additions to my collection!

The Toddfather

Mike C (mac6185 on SCN) had a signing with Todd Helton a couple weeks ago. I had sent in my actual HOF Induction ceremony ticket from last year to the signing. It is stamped and cancelled at the post office induction weekend. I also sent in a plaque postcard that I had cancelled at the post office there as well. Both came back signed beautifully. I am excited to get these items signed from that magical trip to Cooperstown we did as a family last summer. I have a couple more to go on my ticket to complete it!

Gettin’ Miggy Wit’ It

There was recently an autograph event that had a number of former Detroit Tigers in attendance. Chris R (rifon on SCN) was taking items to get signed so I sent him a couple items for Jack Morris and one for Miguel Cabrera. For Jack, I sent a Hall of Fame postcard and the April, 1985 Baseball Digest. For Miggy, I sent in a 3,000th hit ticket. Miggy likes to sign these tickets with 3000 hits instead of 3000th Hit so I was a little nervous about sending it in but Chris did a fantastic job with my items! Miggy signed the ticket exactly as I wanted! All items look great and I could not have been happier!
