Today was the Twin Cities Sports Collectors Club monthly card show. I have been going to the show for years but just recently decided to become a member. A life member at that. Dave B and his crew do a great job when autograph guests are there. A number of dealers there recognize me from over the years and are always kind to me. It is a great group of people!
Today the TCSCC had a couple autograph guests. One was the Twins radio broadcaster for a number of years, John Gordon. Gordo has been calling Twins games since 1987 and I fell asleep a number of times listening to him and the late Herb Carneal calling the games. John is retiring after this season so I thought this would be a cool way to get some of the Twins team cards signed for my team sets I have been working on. They were accepting donations for his autograph which went to a favorite charity of his, Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I got there and purchased a photo and had five cards to get signed. John was his normal, friendly self and graciously signed everything with “Touch ’em All!” I donated $30 for the following autographs:

and Cami wanted a card for her to which he signed “To Camden, ‘Touch ’em All!'”
That was a neat way to knock off some of the team cards I needed for my set.
Later on in the day the TCSCC also had 1980 US Olympic Hockey player Buzz Schneider signing autographs for $5 each. Since I had the two Sports Illustrated magazines with the Olympic hockey team on it signed by four guys on each already, I thought I would get Buzz to sign them too. He was very nice and shook my hand after signing each one.
While killing time between guests, I chatted with Mike and enjoyed talking with him and a couple dealers there. I am already looking forward to next month when Mike Ramsey will be there and I can get him on the SI magazines too!
