Today was Sunday. Twins played at home. You know what that means! Cami and I time at the ballpark and autographs for Cami! Today’s kids autograph guests were Pedro Florimon and Trevor Plouffe. Cami loves Trevor Plouffe so there was no way I was going to get my Plouffe card signed but she did get Florimon on his 2013 Topps card for me. Trevor signed her baseball. It was a fun day at the ballpark with the Twins winning!
A Couple ‘Stros
A week or so ago I received an email from Nick K (royal21 on Neshek’s website) that he was going to work the Astros team this weekend and was wondering if I needed anyone. I have purchased from Nick before and he does a great job. He does hotels as well as the ballpark. I told him I could use Bud Norris and Chris Carter on baseballs and we worked out a deal. Yesterday I received an email that Norris got traded and if there was anyone else I was interested in so I included Lucas Harrell. Nick went to batting practice and got both players before the game for me. Today he stopped by and we traded. Door to door delivery and great autographs… you can’t beat that! He left with a couple Jason Giambi SI’s for the upcoming Indians visit. I wished him luck! Thanks Nick!
Magazine Day!
Today I received four autographed Sports Illustrated magazines acquired in various ways.
First, I purchased the 2013 Baseball Preview issue with “Big Game James” Shield on the cover from Jordan B (royalsFan19 on SCN). Jordan is one of two guys who work the Royals and their opponents for me. He does a great job!
Next I received a Jonny Gomes regional issue from right after the Boston Marathon bombing. Jonny signed it via a signing with Scott Smith (SIKing). Also in the envelope was a pair of autographed issues from 1980 US Hockey gold medalist Mike Eruzione. Scott got Mike to sign the issue at Michael Jordan’s golf tournament in Lake Tahoe earlier this month.
All in all a nice day of SIs!
Robbie & Todd
I purchased a couple baseballs recently and received them today. Both were done with tremendous service and the balls look perfect!
The first was a TriStar certified Roberto Alomar ball with HOF 2011 that I purchased from Mill Creek Sports. I have bought from them before and have always been pleased.
The other ball was for Todd Frazier of the Cincinnati Reds. He does not sign on the sweetspots except during signings. I found that Richard Altman at Hollywood Collectibles was doing a private signing with him. I realized it too close to the date of the event so I called and requested one of their baseballs. Their service is top notch and the ball is beautiful.
