Sir Rodney

Today I received what I think is one of the best deals I ever got on eBay. I purchased a Rod Carew Perez Steele signed postcard with HOF 91 for $15 plus shipping. I had just purchased an unsigned one to get signed at Twinsfest for $7 so I am pretty excited to have this. It included the ARF signing ticket when it was signed as well.

Big Sexy

Today I received a package that included a few items I sent to Chris R (rifon on SCN) that he got signed at a recent White Plains, NY autograph and card show. I had purchased a game used baseball during the game in which Bartolo Colon beat the Diamondbacks in which he became the 18th pitcher to beat all 30 teams back on 08.20.2017 at Target Field. When I found Big Sexy was signing autographs at the show, I contacted Chris and sent him the following Bartolo Colon items:
-Game used baseball inscribed with “8/20/17” above the lace above the sweetspot and “Beat all 30 teams” below the lace below the sweetspot.
-Ticket from 8/20/2017 game with “Beat all 30 teams”
-8/4/17 Topps Now
-8/20/17 Topps Now
-8/21/17 Topps Now
Chris also got Jose Reyes to sign my 03.05.2012 Sports Illustrated magazine that was already signed by Ozzie Guillen. With Reyes signing it, it is now complete.
Thanks for the help Chris!!!

Schill Out!

Wow! What a cool mail day today! Michael E (einho on SCN) had a private signing with Curt Schilling for charity on December 21st and got three items signed for me. The first was a ticket from his 3,000th game. He inscribed it “3000th K”. The second was the 11.08.2004 Sports Illustrated that already had Johnny Damon sign it. When Curt signed it, he told Michael “we are all LOADED drunk in this photo but you wouldn’t know it. Photoshop is a wonderful thing. They took that pic at 7am when they got off the flight. We had been drinking for 86 years with the people.” That was neat but the coolest was Lanny Frattare’s scorecard from the game when Curt threw his first Major League complete game shutout. When Michael put this scorecard in front of Curt, he thought it was a ML Scout’s scorecard. When he told him it was Lanny’s card he was surprised that it was in such good condition after all these years. He looked at it and said “I had one strike out that day. Know who it was? Barry Bonds. Fastball in.” Amazing he remembered it. With Curt being inducted into the Hall of Fame soon (hopefully), these items are really cool additions to my collection! Thanks Michael and thanks Curt!
