Back in late April, 2013 I sent a baseball to Roe Skidmore asking him to write about his one at bat in the Major Leagues and his 1.000 batting average. Today I received a really nice note from him apologizing for the long delay in getting it returned to me and that it got put in a corner of his office behind a file cabinet and he just found it. His note was awesome as was the baseball. I really appreciate former players like Mr Skidmore who genuinly cares about people who send requests to them. Thanks Mr Skidmore!

Is Bud my Bud?
Today I received a baseball back I sent to Bud Selig. I waited until he was for sure going to retire because I wanted it to be signed with his tenure as commissioner. Well, I sent a ball with the request of having his years as well as some of the things he was proud of written on the ball and I got back a ball with just his name. Since he has been out of the office travelling around doing baseball things, most recently getting a museum named after him in San Diego, I am guessing that this was a pre-signed baseball that was swapped out for mine and he never saw my letter. Oh well. Maybe I will try again down the road.
Big Carl
Today I received an envelope with two cards I sent to Carl Pavano a week ago. Carl finished off his 2012 Topps card which was already signed by Drew Butera and Rick Anderson. He also signed his 2013 Topps Heritage High Number card.
Futures Stars!
Today was a great mail day. I received three baseballs I purchased from Kent B (doggle3 on SCN) who I have purchased quite a bit from both already signed and via consignments. Kent was up for the All Star festivities and got some autographs and made them available. I received:
Joey Gallo w/”Futures Game MVP”
Julio Urias
Corey Seager
As always, Kent does an awesome job.
I also received a baseball signed by Dr James Andrews. I sent it to him on 04.09.2014. He signed it “To Kevin”/Dr Jim Andrews. Interesting he signed his first name Jim. Thanks Dr Andrews!
