Today brought a bunch of packages but only two had items that were signed. They were both Sports Illustrated magazines.
The first package was a return from a Sure Shot Promotions show where they had Jason Varitek signing. Jason was on the cover of the 10.25.1999 issue and he signed it real nice in blue Sharpie.
The second package contained the 03.03.1975 issue that I sent to Gary Nolan. It was already signed by Clay Carroll and Jack Billingham. It is now signed by Mr Nolan too. He even returned my donation I sent to him! Thanks Mr Nolan!

Joltin’ Joe!
No, not THAT Joe! Today’s mail brought in a pair of Sports Illustrated magazines I mailed to Joe Carter signed in blue Sharpie. I mailed them a week ago. Pretty fast turn around by Mr Carter! I sent the 11.02.1992 issue already signed by Jack Morris and the 04.06.1987 issue. I could not be more pleased with how they turned out!
What a Steal!
Today’s mail brought just one package. It was a return from a baseball I mailed nearly three years ago. It was worth the wait!
In game four of the 2004 ALCS against the Yankees, the Red Sox were down to their final out and were down three games to none in the best of seven series. Kevin Millar walked to lead off the bottom of the 9th and Dave Roberts pinch ran for him. Roberts stole second base and ended up scoring the tying run and the Red Sox went on their improbable run to win the World Series.
Dave Roberts signed my baseball and wrote what he remembered about the steal on it. It is a pretty neat story ball for the collection.
A Couple Nice Items
Today’s mail brought a surprise and a package of some prospects. Back in the beginning of the season, I mailed a baseball card to Paul Molitor at Target Field. Today I received my 2013 Gypsy Queen card signed beautifully in blue!
The other package was probably the last one I will get from my friend Paul C in Florida until next spring. He worked the instructional league games for me and picked up baseballs signed by the following guys:
Austin Meadows w/”1st RD Pick ’13”
Josh Bell w/”Futures Game 2014″
Alen Hansen
Kyle Schwarber
As always the last few years, Paul has done a great job and I cannot wait until next spring!
