Recently I purchased a Sports Illustrated magazine signed by Manny Ramirez and received it today. Manny has such a scribble for an autograph it is a wonder anyone can authenticate it. That is why it is important to know who you are buying it from. This one came from Dave P (AZGrapher8 on SCN) who got it in spring training a few years ago. I have worked with Dave a few times in the past and is a respected collector.

Benny and the Jets
I recently sent a few Sports Illustrated magazines to Scott Smith, The SI King, for his upcoming consignments and signings. Today I received back the first of three packages. It was a pair of Sports Illustrated magazines signed by Benito Santiago. Of course, when you deal with Scott, you get top notch service and this time was no different. I received them packaged really well and shipped really fast. They are great additions to my collection! Thanks Scott!
A Day of Sports Illustrated Magazines!
Today I received two packages and both had signed Sports Illustrated magazines in them.
The first was an issue from October 21, 1974 that I had recently received back signed from Steve Yeager. This time I got it back from Bill Buckner. It is now signed by everyone I can distinguish on the cover. All four players. Time to retire the issue unless someone can determine who the A’s player in the picture with Steve Yeager is and he is a decent signer.
My other package contained four issues I purchased from Kevin H (justcrazy on SCN). These were all obtained in person by him over the years. This group of four includes:
Jim “Catfish” Hunter- October 23, 1972
Lou Brock- July 22, 1974
Bump Wills- March 28, 1977
Jim Rice- April 9, 1979
Nice lot of three Hall of Famers and a son of a baseball legend (Maury Wills).
Another Multi Signed SI Addition
Today I received my 10.21.1974 Sports Illustrated magazine that was already signed by Rollie Fingers and Steve Garvey signed by Steve Yeager. This is a cool issue celebrating the A’s versus Dodgers World Series!
