Today I received a package from Kent B (doggle3 on SCN). Kent has gotten me a ton of autographs over the last few years from spring training and Kansas City. Overall, Kent is one of the best guys I go through for autographs. His care and communication are top notch.
Today’s package contained the following:
2013 Topps Heritage Josh Willingham
2013 Gypsy Queen Josh Willingham
2013 Topps Josh Willingham
2014 Topps Josh Willingham
2 @ Billy Butler Sports Illustrated
Kent single handedly knocked out all my Willingham needs! THANKS Kent!

Balls and Tickets and Magazines, Oh My!
Today I received a pair of packages. One was like Christmas! Back in spring training I sent some stuff to Josh S (jslaw on SCN) and he did a great job (as he always does for me). I left him some items to get signed from his hometown Marlins as well as some other teams for over the summer. He did not disappoint! He also included me in a private signing with a friend of his with Jose Fernandez. This was before Fernandez had to get Tommy John surgery and was at his meteoric rise (and was the stud of my fantasy baseball team). He also thought of me with a couple tickets during the season too. I received from him the following:
2 Jose Fernandez OMLBs
Jose Fernandez 1st Win Ticket
Kevin Slowey 1st Win Ticket with “1st Win”
Marcell Ozuna ML Debut Ticket. This one is awesome. Josh asked for MLB Debut. Marcell’s English must not be too good as he wrote “MLB Day View”
Jarrod Saltalamaccia Sports Illustrated (11.04.2013)
BJ Upton AND Justin Upton Sports Illustrated (10.07.2013)– Now I need to find a way to get Kate Upton to sign it! 🙂
Andrew Heaney ML Debut ticket
Gregory Polonco 1st HR ticket 06.13.2014 (unsigned)
Jacob deGrom 1st Win ticket 06.21.2014 (unsigned)
As always, Josh does a phenomenal job for me. I look forward to spring training next year with my stuff! Thanks Josh!
The other package I received today had a baseball signed by the latest Cuban to join the Major Leagues, Rusney Castillo. Dan C (scfdff on SCN) got Rusney on a baseball on September 3rd and I was the first one to offer on it. It arrived today and is a pretty neat item to add to the collection. I missed out on getting Yasiel Puig when he first started and was not going to miss Rusney. The ball looks awesome! Thanks Dan!
Jack’s Back!
Today I went to the Twin Cities Sports Collectors Club show in Bloomington because Jack Morris was there signing autographs. It is kind of a drive for me to get there so I really only go there when there is an autograph signer I am interested in. I have just about everything signed by Jack I needed from all the times he was at Twinsfest but I recently bought a 1991 World Series baseball and thought it would be cool to get signed with an inscription. I also decided to start a second Sports Illustrated magazine, this time in blue. My friend Greg N (justgreg on SCN) asked if I could get a card done for him and I found an extra rookie card laying around so I had enough to make it worthwhile. The cost was reasonable too so how could I not get them signed? So, today I got the following things signed:
1991 World Series baseball signed under the logo with “91 W.S. MVP” (looks awesome)
11.02.1992 Sports Illustrated
1978 Topps rookie card
1987 Topps (for Greg)
After I got them all signed I walked around and found a guy selling 1967 Topps High Numbered cards. He gave me a decent price on 19 of them for $200. I had found a low numbered card earlier for $1 I needed. So, I knocked off 20 of my remaining 86 cards for the 1967 set. I am down now to needing “just” 66!
Go Go Go!
Today I received a pair of the regional Sports Illustrated magazines I sent to Scott Smith (SI King) for a signing he coordinated with Carlos Gomez. Carlos was on the cover of an SI only available in the Milwaukee area earlier this year and I was able to get two and sent them to Scott. They were signed perfectly.
