Today was a fun day of mail! I received my signed book written by Rock n Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Van Zandt, “Unrequited Infactuations” that I ordered via Backstreets.com! Little Steven signed it “Miami Steve” which is an interesting choice but I enjoyed the Springsteen book so much I thought it would be cool to get this one. I look forward to reading it!
The other Hall of Famer I got today was Roberto Alomar. Jamie Blye, yet again, assisted in handling my stuff to get signed. Jamie always does a great job with my items. This time I got a Hall of Fame postcard that was stamped at the Cooperstown Post Office on Induction Day signed as well as the April 1992 Sports Illustrated for Kids issue. The SI for Kids was already signed by Sandy Alomar so it is cool to get it finished by the Alomar brothers!
The final thing I got today was my debut ticket signed by Domingo German. Domingo signed it in nice silver paint pen with “MLB Debut”. Lucky’s Sportscards had Domingo in for a signing at the end of the season. A Prospect and a Future Hall of Famer
Today was a fun day for mail! Jim Leyland signed autographs on September 19th at the Main Line Autographs show in Pittsburgh. I had a few things I had wanted to be signed for a while so I sent them in. I received the following items today:
Lanny Frattare scorecard from 04.08.1986 signed with “MLB Managerial Debut Opening Day 4/8/86”
Ticket stub from the 04.08.1986 game with “Managerial Debut”
Ticket from the 09.25.2013 game with “Final Win 1769”
2 baseballs with the following inscriptions on them:
1997 World Champs
1769 Wins
1728 Losses
2017 WBC Team USA Champs
3X MOTY 1990/1992/2006
All the Leyland items have JSA Witness authentication too! I love how these turned out and look forward to his induction into the Hall of Fame.
The other package was three baseballs from a signing that Fan HQ had with Jose Miranda. Each of those have Fan HQ authentication on them.
A Grate(rol) Mail Day!
Today’s mail brought in items from a couple recent private signings. I sent in a few items for a Brusdar Graterol signing shortly after the World Series. It was supposed to be in Los Angeles shortly after the season started. But, with COVID worries and Graterol going back and forth to the minors (rehab?) it was delayed until a couple weeks ago. Oneway77JC did a great job with my items. For the Graterol signing I picked up:
2 Debut tickets with “MLB Debut” and PSA Witness
2 Baseballs with PSA Witness
2020 Topps Heritage #74
2020 Gypsy Queen #246
The other item I received today was a Fernando Rodney debut ticket stub. Rodney made his debut against the Twins at the Metrodome when he played for the Tigers. I had a pair of tickets and got one signed at Twinsfest one year but he did not inscribe it with “ML Debut” even though it was asked. 5 Tool Signings had a signing with him and I sent in the other ticket. He signed it and did inscribe “ML Debut” (funny what a few extra bucks will get a person!). In fact, I received a message from the person conducting the signing with him that he thought that ticket was pretty cool.
Henke Panky
I saw a notice that Tom Henke was signing autographs via a private signing with Jamie Blye and I had a ticket from Game 4 of the 1992 World Series so I sent it in. I got it back today with the requested inscription of “5th Postseason Save”. Thanks Jamie!
