Today I received a book I purchased from Barnes & Noble that was already signed by the author. While I have some signed books, I do not actively acquire books that are autographed but when I saw Bud Selig had a book coming out that I would read anyway, I thought I would at least get a signed version. It is a signed, first edition, instance of his “For the Good of the Game” book. I look forward to reading it. Selig signed it with “HOF 2017” even!

The Sandlot
Today I received something really cool from Chris D (cpdinc on SCN). Most of the cast of the baseball movie The Sandlot appeared at a card show in St Louis a couple weeks ago and he got a movie poster signed by all on the poster but two. And each signed with their movie nickname as well. The autographs on the poster are:
Marty York “Yeah yeah”
Shane Obedzinski “Repeat”
Victor DiMattia “Timmy Timmons”
Tom Guiry “Smalls”
Chauncey Leoparcii “Squints”
Brendan Quintin Adams “Kenny DeNunez”
Patrick Renna “Ham”
It looks FANTASTIC! This is a really unique and cool addition to the collection! Thanks Chris!!!!
Bruuuuuuuuuce!
Today I finally received the final item I sent to MLAM for their spring training signings. Major League Alumni Marketing had a signing with a number of players this spring and I had received all my packages except one. Today I received my Lanny Frattare scorecard from 5/27/2008 when Jay Bruce made his major league debut. I already have a ticket from the game signed by Bruce and when I had the chance to purchase Lanny Frattare’s scorecard from the game, I did and knew I would want it signed some day. Jay signed the scorecard on his row on the scorecard and added “ML Debut”. It turned out beautifully and I am real happy!
Thanks Gaylord!
Today I received a rather odd package. Last week I received a pair of magazines that I had mailed to Gaylord Perry with his fee. The magazines were not signed at all and my cash was not returned. However, someone wrote “O.K. Baseball is great!” on my note. It made no sense to me and I was disappointed. Well, today I received a priority mail envelope and inside was a jersey that was signed by Gaylord Perry with HOF inscription. I am a bit unsure still on what to make of it. It was intentionally sent to me as someone hand wrote my address on the label and Gaylord’s address in the return spot. I do not collect jerseys but this was a pretty interesting thing to happen to me.
