Today I received a JSA witnessed baseball signed by Yankees pitcher Domingo German. Ryan Batkay listed one for sale on Facebook and I jumped on it. I had wanted his autograph for a while. I think he is going to blossom into a superstar if he decides to stay in baseball.

A Couple Young Phenoms
I recently saw a post in the Private Signing group on Facebook for a baseball signed by Ronald Acuna Jr and and another signed by Fernando Tatis Jr. Bleacher Sports was selling the pair slightly discounted. I had a real nice Acuna already but have wanted a Tatis for a while. These baseballs were JSA witnessed/authenticated and I was more than excited to add them to my collection. I received them today and they are awesome! This might go down in a few years as one of my best purchases outside of Mike Trout when he was a rookie!
Casey At The Bat
Today I received four baseballs I sent to a private signing with Casey Mize. Casey is a former first overall draft pick and when I asked Caden if I should send any baseballs in for it, she said send in four. He is high on Casey. The signing was held with All Sport King’s Don Gorbutt and he took care of me! I have three with just Casey’s name and one with the inscription “2018 1st Overall Pick”. Nice additions to the collection by a future ace!
What A Story!
My son said, “Dad! He really hooked you up!” as I was looking over a baseball FULL of ink! This past offseason I was watching the MLB Channel and “Only In Hollywood” came on. It was about Kirk Gibson’s 1988 World Series Game One home run. I remember right where I was when Kirk hit the ball. It was my first year of college and while my roommate and friends were out partying, I was in the dorm room watching the World Series. During the MLB feature, it was mentioned that Mitch Poole had played a big “behind the scenes” role in making the moment happen. At the time, Mitch was a clubby who worked with Gibby to get him ready to bat. Mitch is now the visiting team’s equipment manager with the Dodgers. I sent a baseball asking him to write about what he did and how it all came to happen. He, like Kirk, did NOT disappoint! It is probably one of the coolest Story Balls in my collection. And, my son was right, Mitch really did hook me up!
