What a Hamm!

Today I received a signed card of the VERY elusive Pete Hamm.  Brian F from ABC Unlimited had a private signing where Pete signed just a couple cards for him and he then contacted the Twins collectors to see if we wanted to purchase one.  I jumped at the opportunity as he is on tough autograph to get.  It is a 1972 Topps signed in beautiful blue fine point Sharpie.

Another envelope I received was some cards I traded for on SCN.  I received a message from Paul H (hartwick11 on SCN) that he needed a couple cards I had on my trader list for some sets he was working on.  He did not have any Twins cards I needed but decided to ask my friend Greg N (justgreg on SCN) who has gotten me numerous autographs in the past without asking for anything in return to check out his trader list to see if he needed any cards Paul had on his list.  Greg found a pair so I asked for those as well as a couple more to add to my trader list.  In all, I received the following cards from Paul:
1985 Topps Ernie Camacho (for Greg)
1985 Topps Matt Millen (for Greg)
1975 Topps Twins Team signed by Frank Quilici
1990 Upper Deck Juan Agosto
1994 Upper Deck BAT (?) Ken Brett

It is always awesome to mark of a toughie from the Twins want list!

That’s Just The Ticket!

Today I received a couple tickets I had sent in to a couple private signings.

The first is one that I really wanted for a while.  My friend Steve C gave me a ticket from Game 3 of the 2013 World Series.  That was the game where third base umpire Jim Joyce called obstruction on the third basemen which allowed Allen Craig to score from third with the winning run.  I saw where Craig was doing a signing with St Louis Sports Co (stlsportsco on SCN) so I immediately set it up to send it in.  The ticket was signed exactly as I requested and turned out awesome!  Craig signed it with “Obstruction Call Winning Run”.  I could not be happier!

The other package I got in had a pair of tickets from Jose Abreu’s major league debut.  I bought the tickets right after the game and when Paul B (pabs82 on SCN) announced he was having a private signing with him, I jumped at the chance to send them in.  I also bought a Sports Illustrated he provided that I will get in the next couple days.  The tickets I received today were signed with the marker I sent in and everything.  They look perfect!

All in all a great day of autographed tickets!

The Last Starter

A week or so ago I flipped by day by day baseball calendar at work and the fact for that day was about Bennie Daniels being the starter for two final stadium games.  On 9/24/1957 he started the finale at Ebbets Field and on 9/21/1961 he started the finale at Griffith Stadium. I sent him a baseball and got it back today with both those dates and stadiums noted on the baseball.
