A few months ago I received a bunch of tickets from a friend of mine. Steve C attended a number of ballgames throughout his life and the tickets we a fun time capsule of those moments. Most of the events were from the St Louis area and I had a lot of fun going through them.
One of the tickets was from the game when Steve Carlton got his 300th win. Lefty is real accommodating with his autograph requests when the proper fee is provided. This ticket is really small so I had to make sure I found just the right tip sized marker to do the job. I have used fine point Steadtler Lumocolor markers in the past and knew this was a perfect time to use one again. The problem was that I did not have any! I ordered some on Amazon and they took forever to arrive from Germany (they are made there). I was not disappointed in the way it worked! The ticket looks amazing and is a fantastic addition to my ticket collection! Thanks to both Steves!
Rock N Rollins
Today had a nice surprise. Things have been slow and I expect them to be slow (although I have a couple things out to private signings) for the holidays but today’s mail had a Twins oversized postcard signed by Rich Rollins. This is from the same set as the others I recently had signed by Jim Kaat and Camilo Pasqual. I have another out to Jimmie Hall that may or may not show up some day.
Reese’s Pieces
Today’s mail brought a debut ticket signed by Reese McGuire. Jovan P (baseballjovan on SCN) offered a signing event back in July so I sent my ticket in. Because of the US/Canada border being closed for so long, the signing finally happened. Reese signed the ticket with MLB Debut as well!
Bogged Down
Today’s mail brought a ticket stub signed by Wade Boggs from the game he got his 1000th Career RBI. I was at that game and came across my pair of ticket stubs and decided to send one, with a donation of course, to Wade.
In related news, I also received a ticket stub from Kirby Puckett’s first home run game. I have been looking for this stub for over fifteen years and am really excited to add this to my collection. I have one other Puckett HR coming in. After that I will be down to needing just 23 tickets to complete my HR collection!
