Today I received a Story Ball from Handsome Ransom Jackson. Ransom hit the last home run as a Brooklyn Dodger and wrote about it. The baseball is really cool. He included a nice note and mentioned his book coming out. He wrote that he did not realize until thirty years later when his son called him that it was a question on “Good Morning America!” This was a real neat response and an awesome addition to the Story Ball Collection! Thank you Ransom!
Zim
Today I received a baseball I purchased from the MLBAA a while ago. They had to be reminded to ship it and I even returned a different baseball I ordered at the same time that had the ink bleeding and was a mess. This baseball looks great and is signed by Jordan Zimmermann and has a MLB Hologram. It is a nice addition to the collection.
Clark Hits the Mark
Today I received a really cool story ball from Al Clark. I happened to be reading about Al Clark and saw he umpired the game Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrig’s record for consecutive games played and thought I would try sending him a baseball. He replied in a total of five days (priority mail shipping each way)! He wrote about what it was like in Baltimore that week and that it was the only time in twenty three years as an umpire that he applauded a player’s accomplishment. It is really neat! Thanks Al!
Pags!
Today I received a few items I sent to Doug Keating (4192hits on SCN and from www.cardboardpromotions.com) to have signed by Mike Pagliarulo. Pags played on the 1991 Twins World Championship team and I wanted to add him to my 1991 Sports Illustrated. While I was sending that in, I included all of Pags’ Topps Twins cards and the 1991 10 Year Anniversary set card. I already had those signed but for the price thought I would get another of each. They turned out great! I could not be happier on how well my SI turned out. Doug does an awesome job.
