Back in late April, 2013 I sent a baseball to Roe Skidmore asking him to write about his one at bat in the Major Leagues and his 1.000 batting average. Today I received a really nice note from him apologizing for the long delay in getting it returned to me and that it got put in a corner of his office behind a file cabinet and he just found it. His note was awesome as was the baseball. I really appreciate former players like Mr Skidmore who genuinly cares about people who send requests to them. Thanks Mr Skidmore!

Is Bud my Bud?
Today I received a baseball back I sent to Bud Selig. I waited until he was for sure going to retire because I wanted it to be signed with his tenure as commissioner. Well, I sent a ball with the request of having his years as well as some of the things he was proud of written on the ball and I got back a ball with just his name. Since he has been out of the office travelling around doing baseball things, most recently getting a museum named after him in San Diego, I am guessing that this was a pre-signed baseball that was swapped out for mine and he never saw my letter. Oh well. Maybe I will try again down the road.
Oh Balls!
Today I received an awesome package of baseballs I purchased from Sid’s Graphs. I first heard of Dennis Sidler when I purchased some baseballs from him years ago on eBay. I recently found his website and placed an order. Today I received the following baseballs:
Arismendy Alcantara PSA Rookie
Carlos Correa PSA Rookie
Kevin Gausman – PSA Rookie
Jonathan Schoop PSA Rookie
Andrelton Simmons – PSA
Mark Melancon
I am really excited to add these to my collection and look forward to placing another order with Dennis soon!
May I Have a Pino, Please?
Today was, as is every Sunday home game for the Twins, Kids Day. That means two players will be signing autographs before the game for kids. That also means if I have tickets to the game, Cami is going with me. So, we got to Target Field and got in line. Turns out Cami was the second kid in line. The players signing were the two starters in yesterday’s double header, Trevor May and Yohan Pino. Cami was excited when she heard that because she has neither on her baseball. She does now! Both signed her baseball real nice and even smiled to Cami after she thanked them. It was a LONG day at the ballpark and the Twins lost but the day started with a pair of autographs for Cami!
