“Molitor for three and it could be history making!”

Today I received a really neat ball from former Twins broadcaster John Gordon.  He wrote his call of Paul Molitor’s 3,000th hit when he became the first player to get a triple for his milestone hit.  He also included a cool note that said he was giving my donation to the local food bank.  Pretty cool all the way around.  Thanks Gordo!

Cory’s A Pro(vus)!

Today I received a baseball signed by Cory Provus.  Cory is the play by play broadcaster for the Twins on the Twins Radio Network.  I sent a request to him about three months ago for him to write his call of Kennys Vargas’ walk off.  It was a pretty neat moment for Kennys and the Twins.  I got it back signed real nice along with a note apologizing for the delay.  Thanks Cory!

Boggin’ Me Down

Today I received a Wade Boggs baseball I had sent to him a week or so ago.  I included a $50 check for his favorite charity and requested a number of inscriptions.  I got the ball with one inscription.  It was HOF 05 but I had hoped for about 10 others to be included for the amount of my donation.  Oh well.

Rookies and History

Today I received a pair of packages.  The first one was a package with seven prospects my friend Paul C got me from the minor league teams in Florida.  It contained:
Stephen Gonsalves w/”Go Twins”
Nick Burdi w/”Go Twins!”
Matt Imhof w/”Go Phillies”
Ricardo Pinto
Chih-Wei Hu with his name in Taiwanese also
Jarlin Garcia
Amir Garrett w/”Go Reds!”
As always, Paul does a great job and I cannot wait for his next package!

My other package was a do-over with Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman.  I had sent to him a couple years ago for his call on Pete Rose’s 4192nd hit and he returned it but it was signed in a black felt tip marker.  I know that baseballs signed with felt tip markers usually always end up bleeding.  I was told that spraying the baseballs preserves them so I tried it.  What ended up happening was the ink really bled and make the ball look less than ideal.  I sent him another request, with another donation of course, along with pictures of the baseball and kindly asked if he would do another.  I got it back today and it looks real nice!
