Wow! What a story! Today’s mail brought me a return for a Story Ball from Chuck Goggin. I sent Chuck a baseball asking him to write about his memory of leading off in the game when Roberto Clemente hit his 3,000th hit and Chuck’s reply did not disappoint! It turns out that Chuck got his first two hits of his career in the same game Roberto got hit 3000! What a cool memory and story on the baseball from a personal point of view of that game!

The Key!
Today I received a pair of items for the collection. If you are one of the very few who follow my blog, you might remember the Sports Illustrated from 11.02.1992 that I purchased recently that was signed by five Blue Jays players. Well, now it is signed by six! Jimmy Key was kind enough to sign it and return it!
My other item was a card that Courtland S (cort10 on SCN) got signed for me at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions golf tournament. I had sent some Josh Donaldson cards to three people who were going and one person had a change of plans. Courtland got me the 2021 Gypsy Queen #40 signed. I have another package on its way with a few more from the third person so stay tuned!
Hawk
Today was a fun day to receive a pair of Sports Illustrated magazines from 1983 signed by Andre Dawson. Years ago I had gotten a pair of these signed by Hawk at a show. Both in black Sharpie. When I first started sending requests via the mail, I sent one to an address I thought was for Dave Stieb and never received it back. I found out later that the address I sent it to was to someone else who was purporting to be Stieb so that person enjoyed my SI, marker and donation. I kept the other one I had until Mr Stieb had a private signing. He eventually did and I sent in the remaining SI as well as three others and received them back signed beautifully. Today I received two of those signed by Mr Dawson. Andre has a beautiful signature and inked these up real nice. I will eventually send the remaining one to him but not for a while. Andre now owns a funeral home, yep, a funeral home, in Miami. Interesting career change!
Rock N Rollins
Today had a nice surprise. Things have been slow and I expect them to be slow (although I have a couple things out to private signings) for the holidays but today’s mail had a Twins oversized postcard signed by Rich Rollins. This is from the same set as the others I recently had signed by Jim Kaat and Camilo Pasqual. I have another out to Jimmie Hall that may or may not show up some day.
