Hammer-Time!

Today Josh Willingham and Drew Butera were signing autographs at the Festival Foods in Brooklyn Park from 10:30 to 11:30. Cami and I decided to head up there and got there around 9am. We were numbers 79 and 80 in line. I tried to talk Cami out of getting Willingham to sign her baseball and to sign an extra card of mine but there was nothing doing there! So, we got up to the table and Drew Butera signed her baseball and asked where she got the pretty Twins shirt. Cami smiled and said Justice! I got a ticket from the game Drew got his first Major League hit in and asked him to sign it with 1st MLB Hit and he did. It turned out real nice.
Then we went to the Hammer. He said hi to Cami and signed her baseball. He then signed a 2012 Allen & Ginter card for me. We headed home happy!
I must say that the person who ran the event (I think she said her name was Julie) did an INCREDIBLE job. She kept everyone up to date and provided Klements brats, beverages, Old Dutch potato chips, Kemps ice cream. She was friendly and was happy to be there. Kudos to Julie and everyone else at Festival Foods!

Thanks Mate!

My buddy Greg N (justgreg on SCN) has been mentioned a few times in this blog.  He came through for me again!  Today I received a couple awesome signed items from when Luke Hughes visited the Tacoma Raniers.  Greg got Luke on his ML Debut ticket when he hit a HR in his first at bat as well as on the 2011 Topps Heritage card already signed by Plouffe.  AWESOME items!  THANKS pal!

Twin Twins!

Today brought in a couple Twins from the past.  I had found a really neat wirephoto with Joe Nossek sliding into second base a while ago and finally got around to sending it to him.  I got it back signed today.  Also in the photo is hall of fame umpire Doug Harvey.  I will send it to Mr Harvey next.

Also in the mail was a couple cards signed by Steve Brye.  I did already have these cards in my collection but both were multiplayer cards and the others had signed them so I thought I would send them off to him to finish them off.  He did not disappoint!

If You Send It, He Will Sign

Most of you who know me know that my all time most favorite movie is Field of Dreams.  I have been fortunate enough to have played catch at the movie site in Dyersville, IA with Caden a couple times in the past.  Great movie.  I had sent a baseball to James Earl Jones (Terrence Mann in the movie) a while ago.  He is always acting somewhere whether it is in a movie or in a Broadway play so he is hit or miss timing wise.  Today I received the baseball signed with his name and an inscription of Terrence Mann and Field of Dreams.  I had asked for the quote about baseball from the movie but he did not do that.

I also received a real nice package of items that I had sent to Kent B (doggle3 on SCN).  In it was a bunch of items I sent to him back when the Twins were coming to KC.  In all, he got me the following items signed:
Chris Parmelee 2 @ 1st HR tickets
Francisco Liriano 2006 Topps UH & 2012 Allen & Ginter
Alexi Casilla 2012 Topps Heritage
Lorenzo Cain SS OMLB
Salvado Perez Debut ticket
Mark Mustakas 1st HR ticket
Salvador Perez side panel OMLB
Jonathan Broxton side panel OMLB
He still has a pair of tickets for Eric Hosmer’s ML Debut and his 1st HR that he is still working on.  Thanks Kent!
