Mad Dog II

Back around mid-January 1999 I was taking a programming course at a local college. It was the only formal coding class I ever had and, honestly, it was a waste of time. I already knew everything covered in the course from my own hands on but it did give me confidence that I was going the right way. I arrived at the classroom a little early one day and was checking out eBay. I found a Sports Illustrated of Greg Maddux that I did not have from 1995 without a label. It was just under $20 so I jumped on it. Today, over 20 years later, I received it autographed by Greg Maddux. I had already received my 300 win baseball from the signing and today the SI arrived. Nate Rupp did a fantastic job on my items. Both items were signed perfectly and I could not be happier. My SI has a Beckett Witness sticker on it too! I opted not to get one on the ball because it has so many autographs on it already and did not want to take up room with a sticker.

TA

Today I received a couple Sports Illustrated magazines and a baseball signed by Tim Anderson. Brian M (BM Authentics) had a signing with Tim recently and I sent these items in. Unfortunately I did not prep the magazines and with the high gloss cover, the Sharpie beaded up and looked awesome. Brian reached out to me before mailing them and made things right. I was VERY impressed with how it was handled and look forward to sending in to many more events Brian holds. The baseball on the other hand looks amazing! I was able to remove both autographs on the magazines without a trace and will keep an eye out for another signing with Tim.

A Couple SIs

Today I received a pair of packages that each contained Sports Illustrated magazines. The first package had the 05.31.1976 issue that I sent to Carlton Fisk. Carlton asks for a $50 donation to “The Cancer Support Center” for each autograph. This magazine was already signed by Lou Piniella and the umpire Jerry Cooney so adding Fisk finishes it! I already had one completed and with this one almost done I thought I would send it off. It looks awesome!
The other package had a pair of Sports Illustrated magazines from 09.28.1987. Vinnie M (vinniemiller on SCN) had a signing with Dave Collins. One issue was already signed by Ozzie Smith and is now completed. I will get Ozzie to sign the other one at some point and complete it. I wish I had a ticket from the Kingdome opener as Dave was the first Mariners batter and it would have been cool to get a ticket signed with that inscription. Maybe next time!
