Brian Kritz recently posted a small lot of Sport Magazines (and one Sports Illustrated) on a Facebook sale page. I purchased items from Brian years ago via SportsCollectors.net so I knew his stuff was good and he was fair. Today I received the following magazines:
07.1953 Sport Ferris Fain
02.1955 Sport Al Dark
10.1958 Sport Bob Turley
05.1959 Sport Hank Bauer
07.1981 Sport Goose Gossage
07.06.1964 Sports Illustrated Al Dark
All magazines are great and signed beautifully!

Puttin’ On The Rizz(o)
A real tough signer, Anthony Rizzo, was lined up for a private signing event recently. Chris R (rifon on SCN) was taking orders for him. I have dealt with Chris a lot over the years and knew my items were in good hands so I sent in my 03.28.2016 and my 10.10.2016 Sports Illustrated magazines to be signed. It was not cheap! Both were signed perfectly in blue Sharpie as I wished. I am down to needing just Kris Bryant on the 03.28 issue and only five (out of the total nineteen!) on the 10.10 issue. I started the 10.10 issue on a whim years ago and am surprised how far I have gotten on it! Truth be told, I am surprised on the 03.28 issue as well!
Oh Mr Wilson!
This return took a coordinated effort and real fast turnaround on Nik Key and my parts. I recently received my 11.08.2010 Sports Illustrated magazine back from Nik who was able to facilitate a signing with Buster Posey. To my surprise, the other person on the cover, Brian Wilson, was having a rare signing as well. I had to receive and mail it to Lefty’s Sportscards just before leaving for Arizona a couple weeks ago. Nik sent it quickly and I received it and shipped it to the Wilson signing the same day. Today I received it back signed by Brian Wilson. It is signed by both players in perfect blue Sharpie!
Don’t Mess With Me Buster!
What a fun mail day today! I received a trifecta of items. The first I opened was a pair of Buster Posey Sports Illustrated magazines. Nik Key helped facilitate a signing with MLB Alumni that Buster joined in. I mailed a replacement magazine from the previous signing where they placed the MLB Hologram in a goofy location as well as the 11.08.2010 issue which features Posey and Brian Wilson on the cover. What is great about receiving the 2010 issue today is that Brian Wilson is doing a signing in a couple weeks so I will be able to finish that magazine with the signature of both players on it! Watch for that post in a couple weeks!
The next item I opened was a Danny Jackson Baseball Digest from December, 1988. Danny signed it in blue Sharpie and it looks great!
The last package I opened had a couple tickets that came back from a signing event that Mike C (Mac6185 on SCN) participated in where most of the cast from the Sandlot movie took part in as well as Harold Baines. I sent in a ticket from Harold Baines’ MLB Debut game which he signed and inscribed “MLB Debut”. His signature is garbage but it is what it is. The Sandlot item was a Japanese movie ticket and each actor pictured on the ticket signed it with their name and their character name. Those who signed it include:
Shane Obedzinski (Repeat)
Tom Guriy (Smalls)
Grant Gelt (Bertram)
Marty York (Yeah-Yeah)
Brandon Adams (Kenny DeNunez)
Victor DiMattia (Timmy)
All I need to complete it is:
Patrick Renna (Ham Porter)
Chauncey Leopardi (Squints)
and Mike Vitar (Benny The Jet Rodriguez). Vitar never signs so it will never have his autograph on it.
It is a cool little ticket with just enough perfect room for the remaining two realistic signers!
