Bull-Dozier-ing Through The Mail!

Today was a fun mail day.  A couple months ago I found out Brian Dozier was to be signing at the monthly Twin Cities Sports Collectors Club show.  Caden had a baseball tournament that day so I asked Dave B (the president) if I could send in a few tickets and baseballs for it.  He gladly accepted it and I was excited.  Brian was unable to make it to the show on the day it was to happen but it got rescheduled for this month.  As luck would have it, I had a wedding for Amy’s cousin in Sparta, WI on the day of the show so I let Dave keep the stuff to get it signed.  Today the items arrived.

I got a pair of debut tickets and first home run tickets signed with inscriptions, a pair of baseballs and a couple cards signed and they all look fabulous!  Dave did a great job and I am pleased.

A set of the tickets and cards are for my man Jon S in Rochester, NY who has hooked me up with more than I can repay him for.  He and his son are HUGE Dozier fans so these will be real nice additions to their collections as well as to mine!

That is just the ticket!

Today I received a ticket that I sent in to Chriss P (bigpog on SCN) for a private signing for Carlos Santana.  It was cool that it was the only way I figured I could get an inscription on the ticket.  Chriss did a great job and I got it today with MLB Debut on it.

I also received the SI that I had sent to Bobby Doerr earlier and most recently Bill Monbouquette.  Bill signed it perfectly and included a real nice note and a photo personalized to me.  He said the donation I sent to him will go to the Jimmy Fund.  It was another neat day of additions to the collection!

A Great Mail Day!

Today was a great mail day.  I received items from three places.

The first was from MLAM.  They recently sent out a couple emails regarding highly rated prospects that they got to sign baseballs at the All Star Game and two guys listed I wanted.  Both are known for being difficult signers and I knew the only way I could get them the way I wanted them, at this time, was to get them via MLAM.  Today a pair of blue ink, sweetspot autographed baseballs signed by Francisco Lindor and Manny Machado showed up.  The service from MLAM was great!

Also arriving was my tickets and cards from last weekend’s Chili Davis appearance at Fan HQ.  I was unable to go because Caden had a baseball tournament so I sent in the last two cards I needed signed by Chili.  I am now down to needing just ONE more card signed  for the 1991 10 Year Anniversary Card set.  That is Mark Guthrie.  Hopefully some day.  So, I got the 1991 10 Year Anniversary card signed as well as the 1991 Topps Traded cards signed by Chili Davis.  Fan HQ also did a private signing with Trevor Plouffe so I sent in a ticket from his ML Debut and his first HR game.  I wanted the inscriptions and knew this was the best way to get them.  They all turned out awesome.

Finally was something I was waiting on for a while.  I traded some cards with Clint R (cardfan4ever on SCN) and sent him an Eric Hosmer ML Debut ticket to get signed.  He got it signed and I received it today.  Another ticket to the collection!

Double Your Pleasure!

Today I received a couple items I sent out a little bit ago. First was a card signed by Carlos Gomez. Carlos did a private signing at Waukesha Sportscards on July 14th and Mark G (hofcs on SCN) worked out a bulk discount deal and I was able to get the remaining card I needed for my collection signed by Carlos. It was a 2009 Topps Heritage card.

I also received a baseball I sent to Ken Aspromonte back on 7/2/2012. Ken was the manager for one of the teams involved in the 10 Cent Beer Night promotion. After I got a cool Story Ball response from Joe Tait on the event, I thought it would be neat to get a manager’s viewpoint. Today I got it back! He even returned my donation and my pen.
