Vacation Mail Day

One part of coming home that was actually fun was seeing all the mail piled up in the house.  My in-laws are awesome and not only watched the crazy dog for us but also got the mail each day and kept watch of things at home.  Going through the mail yielded the following items:

  • Joc Peterson signed baseball I sent in to a private signing with this top prospect via Lojo Sports
  • Bill Mazeroski to complete my 1961 Dell Sports Baseball Magazine.  It has Maz, Whitey Ford, Bobby Richardson and Hal Smith on it and looks awesome.
  • Roger Clemens, Frank Thomas, and Juan Lagares signed baseballs via a promotion Leaf Authentics ran at a nice price.

It was a nice run of mail to go through!

Today I received a 05.30.1977 Sports Illustrated magazine I recently sent to Ohio Sports Memorabilia for a signing they were having with Dave Parker.  I saw their listing on signingshotline.com and sent it to them not knowing much about the company.  Wow!  I am more than pleased!  The event was on January 24th.  I got it in three mail days!  Not only that but it came with JSA certification on it too!  The company did a great job and I am very pleased with it.  I hope to watch for their future events based on the job they did this time around!

A 2fer!

Today I received a pair of packages I recently sent out.  The first was a really cool magazine with Whitey Ford on the cover as one of the images.  Mark C (psugator1 on SCN) had a private signing with Whitey and got it signed really nice for me.  I hope to add some of the other guys on it real soon!  Also in the mail today was a baseball signed by Dan Shaughnessy.  Dan was one of the three finalists for the Ford Frick Award at the Hall of Fame this year and I thought it would be cool to add his autograph to the collection before he is inducted in a couple years.  I contacted him via the Boston Globe and he was kind enough to reply and sent me his address.  It is a neat addition to the collection!
