I recently started acquiring Baseball Digest magazines to send out to get signed. I remember subscribing to it back when I was a kid so this is fun to remember getting the newest issue and attempting, but never finishing, the crossword puzzle inside. Today’s mail brought in the May, 1976 issue with Frank Tanana on the cover. He signed it and included his testimonial card.

Elly’s Not Smelly
Jim F (jimfalbo21 on SCN) advertised a signing with Elly de la Cruz with a due date which turned out to be a couple days after he was called up to the Reds. It would have been easy for him to cancel this signing and listed one at a higher price but he kept his cost at what it was before the call up which is commendable. I found out about the signing a little late to get a couple baseballs in so I purchased his stock items. I received them today and after a few days at the Major League level he is a heck of a player! I already had one ball signed by him at Redsfest but wanted to add a couple. Now to get my MLB Debut tickets signed…
Not A Rook(er) Any More
Brent Rooker was a touted rookie with the Twins as he come up the system. He is currently playing with the Oakland A’s and doing quite well. AutographDen on eBay had a 2022 Gypsy Queen card for sale so I bought it. AutographDen is also on SCN (ColeL33) and is someone I trust buying cards from for my Twins sets.
Holy Smoke! Prospects Abound!
If you have followed this silly blog, you would know that I have a guy named Chris L (ChrisL999 on SCN) who gets me a ton of prospects on baseballs. I typically send him a dozen baseballs and let him decide who he is going to see and trust his judgement that the player is “ball worthy”. He does an amazing job for me and gets me a lot of the Top 100 Prospects. Today I received a box with the following baseballs signed on the sweetspot in beautiful blue ink:
Stone Garrett
Brock Porter
Jake Irvin
Robert Hassell
Parker Messick
Lane Thomas
Wilmer Flores (Tigers Pitcher Prospect and brother of the other Wilmer Flores)
Samuel Basallo
Colt Keith
Frank Mozzicato
Chris has already put a dent into the next dozen of baseballs I just sent him! Thanks Chris!
