Pete Lane recently posted a few cards for sale on a Facebook group and I got excited when I saw a half dozen Jose Berrios cards listed. Turns out I only needed one and today that one showed up. It is a real nice 2021 Topps #395.
A 1st HR and Debut
At the beginning of spring training, Lou R (SIGNATURES on SCN) posted he was having a private signing with Gregory Polanco and Ronny Mauricio. I happened to have a ticket for Polanco’s 1st MLB HR and a pair of debut tickets for Mauricio so I sent them in. I received them back today signed perfectly with the appropriate inscriptions. These items look awesome and are really cool additions to my collection!
Final Spring Package
On the day of the Twins home opener, my final package from spring training showed up! Matt H (mattyice on SCN) spent spring training getting autographs for my Twins collection. Matt has helped me in previous years and is one of the good guys. Today’s package included:
Kyle Farmer 2023 Topps #US57
Max Kepler 2019 Topps #438
Jose Miranda 2023 Topps #505
Jose Miranda 2023 Topps #US305
Bailey Ober 2023 Topps #US301
Caleb Thielbar 2023 Topps #US258
Kyle Farmer 2023 Topps Heritage #442
Ryan Jeffers 2023 Topps Heritage #659
Edouard Julien 2023 Topps Heritage #589

These are all great cards and it is so fun to mark them off my need list! I cannot wait for next spring training!
Fish Sammich
I met my buddy Rob M when he was my ticket rep when I first got Twins season tickets back in 2001. The first time we spoke we chatted for over an hour and it began an awesome friendship. Over the years we have quirky traditions like meeting up at Twinsfest, or the Twins Opener or whatever event we will be at together. One of the best ones is that we meet for McDonald’s fish sandwiches on a Friday during Lent before the season. Back in the Metrodome days, I would bring the kids and we would sit in a suite and eat, chat, and watch some random division iii baseball game being played under the Teflon sky. This year I took the day off and met him at his new office location next to the ballpark. We had a fantastic time chatting and he showed me the new office area. We then went across the street and checked out the ballpark. It was so nice to see the ballpark and all that was going on there in preparation for the season. When I left, Rob gave me a bag of items and one of the items within it was an Emilio Pagan signed baseball. To his surprise, I did not have one in my collection so this is an awesome addition to it. I hope to see Rob at the home opener next week. Thanks pal!
