Another Nice Mail Day!

Today I received three packages from various people with autographed items in them.  One was a box full of baseballs gotten for me at the Arizona Fall League, one was a World Series ticket, and the other a couple photos I traded for.
The baseballs came from Christian B (hheroes10 on SCN) who has gotten me autographs from Arizona Spring Training and Fall League over the past number of years.  This group contained:
Jesse Winker
Hunter Dozier
Anthony DeSclafani
Eddie Rosario
DJ Peterson
They were all signed perfectly in blue on the sweetspot just how I like ’em!

A couple weeks I saw where Dan C (scfdff on SCN) was going to a signing with Jim Kaat in New York and was offering to take items.  I had a Game 2 of the 1965 World Series ticket I had been wanting to get signed by Jim for a while.  I sent it to Dan asking if he would ask Jim if he would write “Complete Game Winner” on the ticket too.  Dan emailed me right after the signing and said Jim’s agent was saying no inscriptions but he asked and Jim told him it was such a unique item he would inscribe it.  Today I got the ticket and COULD NOT be happier!  It turned out AWESOME!

The other package was a tube with a pair of photos.  Bryan W (bryanwood on SCN) contacted me about an NFL Duke football I posted on SCN a long time ago for trade.  He was going to see someone a couple days later and wanted it for the signing.  Since I bought the ball in hopes of having Brett Favre sign it when he was a Viking and it never happened, it was just gathering dust so I looked over his trade items and picked out a couple cool signed pictures.  The first picture is an 8×10 of the fight between George Brett and Graig Nettles in the 1977 ALCS signed by both of those guys.  I showed it to Caden and we watched the video of it and he wanted that photo so I got that one.  The other one I received is a really cool 11×14 of Phil Niekro on the mound in mid-windup about to throw a knuckleball while playing for the Yankees.  What makes this photo so cool is there are five inscriptions on the photo all signed in perfect silver paint pen.  Cami saw that picture and said she wanted that one.

All in all it was a really nice mail day!

A Couple Nice Items

Today’s mail brought a surprise and a package of some prospects.  Back in the beginning of the season, I mailed a baseball card to Paul Molitor at Target Field.  Today I received my 2013 Gypsy Queen card signed beautifully in blue!

The other package was probably the last one I will get from my friend Paul C in Florida until next spring.  He worked the instructional league games for me and picked up baseballs signed by the following guys:
Austin Meadows w/”1st RD Pick ’13”
Josh Bell w/”Futures Game 2014″
Alen Hansen
Kyle Schwarber
As always the last few years, Paul has done a great job and I cannot wait until next spring!

S’More Balls

Today I received a nice package of baseballs from my guy Paul C who lives in Florida and gets me all the prospects I want.  Today’s package contained the following baseballs:
Manuel Margot
Rafael Devers
Lewis Thorpe w/”Go Twins”
Nick Gordon w/”1st Pick 14″
Chance Sisco w/”Go Orioles”
Drew Dosch w/”Go O’s”
Justin O’Conner w/”Futures Game 2014″
As always these are beautiful blue ink sweetspot balls.  Paul does a great job!  An interesting story about when he got Rafael Devers to sign the ball is that Paul had to tell him how to sign his name.  He said he spelled out every letter for him so he could sign.  I guess his English is not too good.  Both he and Paul did a great job though!

An Awesome Day!

Today was an awesome day.  It started with Cami and I heading to Ridgedale Mall where Danny Santana and Kennys Vargas were signing autographs at Fan HQ.  I had purchased my tickets a while ago which was great because they sold out.  Fan HQ did a great job because English is not their primary language and inscriptions were offered.  What they did was wrote down the inscription on index cards so you could give them to the player so they knew what to write.  We got to Kennys first.  He is a big strong man!  I handed him a ticket from his ML Debut game and the index card with the inscription and he signed it.  Then it was a baseball card for Cami.  Then it was a baseball and then a final ticket from his first home run game with inscription.  Cami then said “Gracias!” and Kennys looked up and his eyes got real big and went “OOOOooooooOOOOOooooo!” and smiled as he was surprised Cami knew (a little) Spanish.  That was Cami’s most favorite moment of the whole day.  We then went to Danny and got him on a ball and a card for Caden and lastly a ticket from his first home run game with inscription.  Shaun H did a great job running the signing at Fan HQ.  Cami and I walked away with smiles from ear to ear and an awesome memory.

Once we got home and got the mail I found a couple packages of signed stuff.  The first was an envelope I sent in to a Gregory Polonco signing in Pittsburgh through 1st and Goal Sports.  In it was a ticket signed by Polonco with MLB Debut on it.  It looks phenomenal.

The last package I opened was from my friend Paul C in Florida.  He has been working the Instructional Leagues for me down there and mailed the following blue ink sweetspot baseballs from the Rays prospects:
Taylor Guerrieri with “2011 1st Rd”
Andrew Toles
Kean Wong with “Go Rays!!”
Willy Adames with “Go Rays!!”
Casey Gillaspie
Another great batch of baseballs from Paul!  He texted me today and told me he already got me three autographs from my current want list I sent him!

All in all it was an AWESOME day of adding items to the autograph collection!
