Today was a fun day of mail! I received my signed book written by Rock n Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Van Zandt, “Unrequited Infactuations” that I ordered via Backstreets.com! Little Steven signed it “Miami Steve” which is an interesting choice but I enjoyed the Springsteen book so much I thought it would be cool to get this one. I look forward to reading it!
The other Hall of Famer I got today was Roberto Alomar. Jamie Blye, yet again, assisted in handling my stuff to get signed. Jamie always does a great job with my items. This time I got a Hall of Fame postcard that was stamped at the Cooperstown Post Office on Induction Day signed as well as the April 1992 Sports Illustrated for Kids issue. The SI for Kids was already signed by Sandy Alomar so it is cool to get it finished by the Alomar brothers!
The final thing I got today was my debut ticket signed by Domingo German. Domingo signed it in nice silver paint pen with “MLB Debut”. Lucky’s Sportscards had Domingo in for a signing at the end of the season. Wade-ing Around
There was a recent signing with LaMonte Wade Jr with a sports company that I wanted to send a baseball in to have LaMonte sign. I missed the deadline and was ticked about it. Well, as luck would have it, I was checking out Fan HQ Sports website looking for information on where to send my items for the recent Jose Miranda signing and came across a LaMonte Wade Jr ball already signed for sale! It was the price of just the autograph for the signing! I purchased it and it arrived today! Shaun H and his crew at Fan HQ do an amazing job taking care of his customers. EVERY transaction with them has been great and this was no exception! Hip Hip Jorge!
I have been looking for an autograph of Felix Jorge for a while. I need him on a couple cards. Someone posted on a Facebook group that they were breaking up a number of Topps Heritage sets and to post if anyone needed any. I posted I Needed the 2018 Rookie Stars card with Zach Granite and Felix Jorge but I would be happy with just Felix Jorge to have signed it. While the person who posted did not have one, Lance Dare did have one. He got it after chasing Felix around the Reds Spring Training complex the one year he was there. Since then, Felix has been a ghost not showing up on any team roster or any place. I am guessing he went back home to the Dominican Republic and I will have to wait until someone sets up a signing there for my debut ticket and other card. Today I received the 2018 Rookie Stars #99 card signed by Felix Jorge and could not be happier!
The Puck Stops Here
Today I received a 1992 Topps #575 card of Kirby Puckett signed in blue. I already had one signed in the collection but this card is a stunner and and upgrade to the one I have. Lee Sadowski used to be a sports card dealer in MN back in the day and listed this card as one he got signed at Twinsfest years ago. I am excited to add this to my collection!
