Today I received a box with three baseballs in it from Chris L (chrisl999 on SCN). Chris attended the MLB Winter Meetings last week and was able to get the following baseballs signed for me:
Bruce Bochy
Bill James
John Schuerholz with HOF 2017
Chris did an awesome job and got me three baseballs I have wanted for a while. Thanks Chris!

Now that I have your attention with that crazy title, I have to say I am pretty excited about what came in today’s mail. First, I had sent a Craig Sager First Pitch insert card from the Topps Update series. Craig has been battling cancer and it arrived today signed beautifully. I wish him well in his fight.
Next was two packages from Tom Orr that he got signed at the recent Chicago Sun Times show. The first box had my 3,000 K baseball. I had all the living players who got 3,000 strikeouts except for Randy Johnson. Tom got Randy to sign the baseball with his 4875 K total. It looks awesome.
The other package from Tom had a pair of Sports Illustrated magazines in it. The first was the issue from 07.07.2003 that Kerry Wood signed. I just need Mark Prior to finish it. Also in this package was my 1980 US Olympic Hockey team signed SI. I had all the hockey players on it except for Mark Pavlich. Tom got Mark to sign it and it is now complete. I was nervous of the Olympic SI and the baseball being shipped but Tom and the USPS came through!
And a Super Star was Born
Today I received one of the coolest baseballs ever. I was reading an old article and it mentioned how Kirby Puckett was discovered by the Twins. Jim Rantz was THE guy in this so I thought I would see if I could find him and send him a baseball asking to write about his recollection of seeing Puckett for the first time. Mr Rantz, like Kirby himself, did not disappoint! This is one of my top three baseballs in my collection for the content and what Puckett meant to me as a high schooler and beyond. Thank you so much Mr Rantz!
The Chicago Cubs Win The World Series!
Who would believe that the 2016 World Champions would be the Chicago Cubs? What a great series and gift to the long suffering fans. Today I received a baseball signed by Cubs broadcaster Pat Hughes who signed the ball with his call of the final out of Game 7 when the Cubs became champions. It looks awesome. Thanks Pat!
