Paul Skenes won the 2024 NL Rookie of the Year with an amazing season. Coming in second place was Jackson Merrill of the Padres. Jackson’s autograph is really a scribble and fairly ugly but since he had such a great year I decided to send in to Alan Moore’s Sports Graphing signing and bought a baseball from him. It arrived today and the signature is more than a scribble. Jackson took his time on it (probably since it was a paid signing event) and it is beautifully signed. It also included Beckett Witness authentication. I am very pleased with how it turned out!

Ober The Moon!
In a recent email from the Twins, I noticed that Brooks Lee and Bailey Ober were going to be at the Team Store at Target Field today. You could get an autograph of each if you bought something and everything but jerseys were half off. Work was really slow so I decided at the last minute to take an early and longer lunch break and head down. I got there just as the event was starting but sat in my car to let the crowd thin out. I went in and found a hat and bought that and got in the very short line for the players. I had purchased Brooks Lee’s first MLB putout baseball last season and thought maybe he would inscribe it at an event like this. I had an index card written out how I would like it inscribed. He completely ignored that request and signed it on the sweetspot with his name. I figured that might happen since he is a Fanatics athlete and they tend to only do extra things when getting paid. I moved on to Bailey. He is really cool and really tall. I told him that this coming season will be my 25th as a season ticket holder and he said that was really cool. I said “I bet you didn’t expect it to be this cold when you signed up for this!” He laughed and said he knew it would be colder but it was not much colder than Charlotte where he came from. He signed my ball on the sweetspot and thanked me for coming. While chatting with Bailey, Brooks commented that he remembered that play… “Matt Vierling. A step and put my glove up.” He was exactly correct. Pretty cool. It was a fun little quick kill and I won’t have to worry about these at Twinsfest.
Joe HOF Package #2
Yes. Today is Columbus Day and no mail service but my mail carrier showed up this morning with a signature request for my second Joe Mauer package from FanHQ’s private signing! I excitedly signed for the package and ripped it open! Inside were the following items:
HOF Logo baseball signed under the logo
HOF Logo baseball signed under the logo with HOF 2024
HOF postcard I picked up and got stamped in Cooperstown during induction weekend with HOF 2024
My actual HOF induction ticket that I got stamped (I hope to someday get the other three inductees on the ticket to sign it)
I am really excited to see my third package that should arrive tomorrow! You won’t want to miss that one!
Joe HOF Package #1
FanHQ does an awesome job on the guests they have in for signing events. That is why I had no hesitation to send in a bunch of Joe Mauer items for Joe’s first signing post HOF induction. I actually sent in three different package and received notification that all three shipped. What is ironic is that it looks like each of the three packages will arrive on three consecutive mail days!
Today’s package included the last of the three I sent in. This involved a baseball that has his HOF induction logo on it. It is really cool and I had a fun time tracking these baseballs down at the ballpark with my brother. Joe signed it beautifully under the logo and included HOF 2024. Can’t wait for the other two packages to arrive!
