Nice Pair!

Today I received a pretty cool pair of mail packages. The first was a Super Sports magazine from August 1970 which features Lou Brock and Pete Rose on the cover. I bought this magazine from Matt Keen because I had never seen it before and it was in perfect shape with both players signing it. It is a cool addition to the non-SI magazine collection!
The other package was a baseball I sent to former umpire Bob Davidson. I asked about the time he ejected Montreal Expos mascot Youppi and he replied on the baseball. You can read more about the ejection here. Pretty funny stuff.

A Stark Return

Today I received a baseball I had sent out at the end of July. I should have known it was a bad time to send it with the trade deadline and then the playoffs coming up but Jayson Stark signed my baseball and included “2019 J G Taylor Spink Award” on it. It looks great and is a real nice addition to my collection. Jayson also included a note apologizing for it taking so long. Thanks Jayson!

My Favorite Martin

Today I received an MLB certified Martin Perez signed baseball from my buddy Rob. He asked me for a little assistance on an Excel project he was working on and to my great surprise and happiness, a beautiful Martin Perez baseball showed in the mail a couple days later. I told Rob he did not have to send me anything but he insisted. It is a cool addition to my collection. Thanks pal!

Three’s A Charm!

Today I received three, yes THREE, packages with autographs in them! What a fun mail day!
The first package was a HOF postcard signed by Trevor Hoffman that I bought from Steve S (cosmo on SCN). Steve has provided me a few items in the past and is one cool dude. He also included an early Kent Hrbek signed index card. Thanks Steve!
The second package was a pair of Shane Mack cards. FanHQ had a private signing with Shane last week and I had sent in my final two Mack cards I needed to complete my Twins team sets. These are 1990 Topps Traded #64T and 1994 Topps #337. Both were signed perfectly in blue Sharpie. Thanks Shaun and crew!
My final package was one I forgot about. I mailed a baseball to Dave Fleming via Oracle Park in San Francisco asking him to write his call from when the Giants beat the Tigers in the World Series. Not only did he sign the ball but he also included his call! I have a new baseball to add to The Call Ball Collection! Thanks Dave!
What a fun time opening these packages!
