What. A. Call!

Joe Davis, the play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers radio station, also called the Fox Sports broadcast of the 2024 (and 2025) World Series. Some time during the past season, I sent a baseball to Joe asking for his famous call of Freddie Freeman’s walk off home run in Game 1 of the 2024 World Series. I received it today! And it is awesome! Joe signed it with his call “Freeman with a ball to right field… She is gone! Gibby, meet Freddie! Game 1 of the World Series.” Amazing call to tie the two moments together. Interesting note related to this… I have a pair of tickets from Game 1 of the 1988 World Series where Kirk Gibson hit HIS famous home run. They are both signed and inscribed by Gibby and Dennis Eckersley!

Mazur

About a month ago I received a text from a coworker and friend wondering if I had any baseball cards for Adam Mazur. She said her husband works with Adam’s father and he would love to give him some cards. I told her I was on it! I picked up a large variety of cards from eBay and SportLots.com and got them to her and her husband. Today I received a text that her husband picked up a ball for me signed by Adam! I had my son run over and pick it up and it is a nice addition to my collection! Adam grew up in the city next to mine and my son was a year older than Adam. They almost played against each other at the VFW level in some tournament but my son’s team lost just before that was to happen.

Houston, We Do Not Have A Problem!

I received my final package of items from this past season today. Mike E (from Facebook) sent me three items that he got signed in Iowa or games related. I got:
Marek Houston OMLB with “1st Round 2025” (he was the Twins first round pick in the draft)
DeShawn Keirsey 2025 Topps #605
Jordan Balazovic 2024 Topps Heritage #680
Great stuff to close out the season!
