I was at the Twins game in 2022 when they retired #36 for Jim Kaat. The team was able to get special baseballs for that game and I was fortunate to purchase a game used one, as well as a couple unused ones, for my collection. Tom O (orr23mj on SCN) offered up a couple Christmas deals and one of them was one of those baseballs already signed and inscribed with “#36 Retired 7/16/22” and I bought it. It was cheaper than if I got one of my own signed with postage and the autograph fee, etc. I am waiting to get the game used one signed exactly the same way.

A “Cheeky” Mail Day!
Wow! What a fun day of mail today! I received FIVE packages of mail that contained autographed items! Where do I start?
The first envelope I opened was from my buddy Steve C (last name pronounced Cheek thus the title of this post). He had sent me a baseball card of himself from when he was a kid and I sent it to him asking him to sign it. I included a little that I sent out to the ballplayers and got it back signed today. I half expected a price sheet for future autographs. LOL. Thanks bud!
The next envelope was from Vinnie M (vinniemiller on SCN) who had posted some cards for sale on a Facebook group. Vinnie provided me two 2021 Topps Heritage cards signed by Jose Berrios, the regular and In Action. Great job as always Vinnie!
Next was an envelope that I had sent to The Philly Show a while ago that had a ticket from Kyle Schwarber’s debut. He signed it nicely with MLB Debut and I paid for JSA Witness sticker.
Then, Brooks Robinson returned my Baseball Digest from July 1974 signed beautifully with HOF 1983. Looks awesome!
Lastly, I received my box of goodies from Redsfest that I had sent to Tony R (trogers on SCN). In it was a beautifully signed Elly De La Cruz baseball and a Spencer Steer ticket with MLB Debut inscribed. Tony even included some Reds schedules for me! I love it!
What a great day of mail today! It was a blast opening it all!
More Prospects!
My man Chris L (ChrisL999 on SCN) game through again for me! He wrapped up the season on a heck of a streak. He worked hard for me and got baseballs signed beautifully from the following players:
Jarlin Susana
Dermis Garcia
Endy Rodriguez
Zach Logue
Ken Waldichuk
James Wood
Landen Roupp
Joey Meneses
Now we wait a couple years to see which turn out to be like Mike Trout! Thanks for all your work this season for me Chris!
Not Bombing Out
I acquired a ticket to the Twins game on 8/25/1970 recently as it was the game of a rather unusual event. There was a bomb threat called into the ballpark, later found to be made FROM INSIDE the ballpark! Bill Zepp was the starter for the Twins that day and I thought it would be a cool story ball opportunity so I sent him a request. He replied signing the ball with a story about what he remembered from the game. It turned out awesome! He even included a cool note!
