Sanoooo Doubt About It!

At one time Miguel Sano was one of the most feared hitters in baseball. He has since fallen off the map and is currently playing baseball in the Dominican Republic. Jackson T (of Big T Authentics and zagurski2016 on SCN) is pretty much the current go to guy for Dominican players’ autographs as he travels back and forth multiple times a year and has built up a nice stable of players he gets to sign. This was the first, and only so far, signing for Sano since he left the Twins and I had a bunch of cards I needed for my sets. So, I took all my non-Topps Now cards and a Triple Play ticket and shipped them to Jackson. The cards I sent and got signed are:

And the ticket was the Triple Play game from 06.01.2017 against the Angels. I had that signed by Brian Dozier and he inscribed Triple Play. You can see the ticket in the picture Jackson sent me of Sano signing.


I am really excited to knock off all my Sano collection needs except for my Topps Now. I have to wait for another signing as this one was not cheap!

I received a pair of packages in the mail today! The first was from Vinnie M (vinniemiller on SCN). Vinnie gets me a lot of autographs of players who roll through Seattle. I only sent him items for the Twins series this year. He waits until the season is over to do his mail and return the items. So, today’s package was:

The other package was from Guy P (gpuglia on SCN) who had a private signing with Mike Pagliarulo. I had a pair of full tickets from Game 3 of the 1991 ALCS and had him inscribe them with “Game Winning HR”. They turned out better than I expected with Mike’s long name on a skinny ticket. I was a bit nervous how it would look but they look awesome!

I was fortunate enough to be at the game when Dave Winfield got his 3,000th hit off Dennis Eckersley at the Metrodome. It was the first of three 3,000th hits I was able to witness. I got a ticket from that game signed by Dave at Twinsfest years ago but he did not inscribe 3,000th hit. Tom O (orr23mj on SCN) had a private signing with Dave recently and I had another ticket from that game so I sent it in as well as a 09.16.2022 Topps Now card (incidentally commemorating Dave’s 3,000th hit) and a 2022 Allen & Ginter card. Today I received the items. The items were all signed great but Dave missed the inscription on the ticket. I contacted Tom and he will be seeing Dave in February so I sent it back and he will add the inscription then.
