Today I received a package from my friend Jon S who lives in Rochester, NY. Jon has hooked me up big time over the years as he has season tickets to the Red Wings and sees a lot of the Twins players come through there. Today’s package has one of my most favorite things in it… a Byron Buxton ML debut ticket with inscription! I had sent this ticket to him a while ago because, like me, he collects Brian Dozier home run tickets and Buxton just happened to make his ML debut in the game when Dozier went yard. Turns out he was able to get it signed and I replaced his ticket. Jon treats me really well. I continually owe him and this time is no different. It was like Christmas opening the package today! In it was:
Byron Buxton ticket with “Major League Debut”
Alex Meyer ticket with “MLB Debut”
2015 Bowman Chrome Jose Berrios
2015 Topps Danny Santana
2015 Topps Oswaldo Arcia
2015 Topps Josmil Pinto
2015 Topps Heritage Oswaldo Arcia
2015 Kennys Vargas Gypsy Queen.
Thanks a ton for all you do for me Jon!

Awesome Eddie
Eddie Rosario was signing autographs today at the Cub Foods in Crystal. It so happened that I was off work and heading to Caden’s state baseball tournament in Big Lake and it worked out that Crystal was on the way. I picked up Caden’s friend Cayden at 11 am and headed to Cub Foods. We got there about 25 minutes before he was supposed to start signing. My family was at Eddie’s Major League debut and witnessed him hitting a home run on his first pitch. It was awesome. Before that though, Cami and I reserved a game used baseball from that game and knew we were going to get it signed at some point. Today was that moment. We got to him and I explained we were at the game and bought the two baseballs and requested an inscription on the ball. He signed each of our baseballs with “1st Game MLB Debut 5/6/15”. They look really cool. Caden got a ticket from that game signed with “MLB Debut Home Run”. Cayden got a couple cards signed for his collection. Afterwards we got in the car and got to Big Lake in time to start warming up. We ended up winning that game so it was a great day all around!
A Cy Young and Debut
Today I received a pair of items. The first was a baseball signed by John Denny with 1983 NL Cy Young inscription. I bought it from Greg W (gwbaseball on SCN) from a signing he had a number of years ago with Denny. Denny is a pretty difficult signer so I am happy to get his autograph.
The other item I got was a ML Debut ticket for Archie Bradley I sent to Graham H (Graham31004 on SCN). Archie signed it with “MLB Debut 4-11-15”.
A couple nice items received today!
Happy For Javy!
Today I went to the Iowa Cubs game with the kids and Caden’s baseball team. We were all in Des Moines for a baseball tournament and it worked out that the Cubs were in town so we got forty tickets and everyone went. It was a blast. Cami, Caden’s friend Cayden, and I got to the ballpark just as the gates opened. It had rained up to that point so the tarp was on the field and the players were not out taking batting practice. The three of us waited where the players take the field and most walked past us. Cayden and Cami saw that Corey Seager (the number five prospect in baseball) was going to the Dodgers’ dugout and decided to head there. I had a ML debut ticket of Javier Baez that I was hoping to get signed so I waited halfway down the third base line watching him warm up. Once he was done, we went to a couple kids and signed for them and posed for a photo and then signed my ticket. I was really excited. On the other side of the field Cayden and Cami were able to get Corey Seager. They also got another player after the game. Cami conned me into buying her a game used signed bat but Chris Valaika.
We all had a blast and the kids got on the scoreboard video screen twice! Unfortunately for the Cottage Grove Wolfpack, they only won one game and lost three on the weekend. It was fun though!
