Today I received a cool Story Ball from umpire Dale Scott. Dale was the first base umpire for the Twins 2009 Game 163 game and he, like Randy Marsh, commented on how loud the fans were! In fact, Dale commented that it was “one of the loudest crowds ever in my 32 year career!” Pretty neat remembrance!

Marsh(mellow)
Today I received a baseball from umpire Randy Marsh. I sent Randy a baseball and asked him to write about what he remembered from the Twins 2009 Game #163. He wrote that he “Couldn’t hear a thing in the Dome!” That’s pretty cool because I was at that game. It was my most exciting game I have seen in person!
A Little More Pine Tar
Today I received a really cool baseball that was signed by Mike Armstrong. Mike was the winning pitcher in the Pine Tar Game and wrote about what he remembers from the game. Brian S (bds258 on SCN) had a private signing with Mike and I worked out a deal to send a baseball to it. I cannot express enough how happy I am with this baseball and the effort Mike and Brian put in to make it happen. Thanks guys!
Nice Pair!
Today I received a pretty cool pair of mail packages. The first was a Super Sports magazine from August 1970 which features Lou Brock and Pete Rose on the cover. I bought this magazine from Matt Keen because I had never seen it before and it was in perfect shape with both players signing it. It is a cool addition to the non-SI magazine collection!
The other package was a baseball I sent to former umpire Bob Davidson. I asked about the time he ejected Montreal Expos mascot Youppi and he replied on the baseball. You can read more about the ejection here. Pretty funny stuff.
