Today was a fun day of mail. I received a trio of items I sent to Phil K (StLSparty on SCN) for a signing he was doing with Jim Kaat and Ozzie Smith. Ozzie’s autograph was added to the 09.28.1987 Sports Illustrated that was already signed by Dave Collins. If this rings a bell, it is because I already had one completed by both guys and this is a second one. The other two items which had Kaat’s autograph inked on them was a 7″x8.75″ photo card of Jim taken in Spring Training in a year later in his career with the Twins. It appears to me to be like what you could buy at a souvenir stand at Met Stadium in the mid to late 1970s. I also had a Sporting News from 09.10.1966 which featured him on the cover signed. All three things turned out great! It was the first time I sent in to one of Phil’s signings and the way things turned out, it won’t be my last!

A Cycle!
Today I added a signature to a ticket I got in trade a while ago. I had been waiting for Larry Hisle to show up at a signing event and Mark G (hofcs on SCN) took my cycle ticket to that event. I sent a marker since the ticket is fairly small and instructions on where to sign it. They were executed perfectly! The name and Cycle inscription are in the perfect locations! The ticket looks awesome!
Sir Rodney
Today I received a pair of items signed by Rod Carew. Tom O (orr23mj on SCN) had a private signing with Rodney and I sent in a Perez Steele postcard and a 2021 Allen & Ginter card #108. Without knowing if there would be a Twinsfest this January I was not willing to wait to get these done. Rod’s prices are going up and I figured it would be best to get him now with those items laying around needing ink.
Tony O
I may be a little bias here but I have felt for years that Tony Oliva deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. As a person, he is second to none always smiling and taking photos with fans at Target Field or where ever. He is one of Cami’s favorite autograph gets of all time when she got him on a ball at the 2014 All Star Fanfest. I have a ton of Tony O autographs but had some items laying around that needed his signature on them so when I saw that Jeff F (haleysdaddy0304 on SCN) was having a signing with him at a reasonable price, I jumped on it. I got the following items signed beautifully via Jeff’s signing:
June 1971 Baseball Digest
1970 Topps Super
1971 Topps Super
Topps Living Set #366
Topps Now Turn Back The Clock #91
1967 Topps Venezuelan #230
They are all really cool but I think my favorite of this batch is the Venezuelan card! Thanks for doing a fantastic job on these Jeff!
