What a fun day. I left work at 2pm to get to the Metrodome to wait for the Justin Morneau bobblehead. Heidi & Bob showed up shortly after I got there and Amy showed up around 4:40 or so. We got our bobbleheads and Amy left to go to my parents’ home to get the kids. I chose today to be the game we have our pregame Fantastic Fan hospitality party for season ticket holders. After getting the bobblehead, I headed to where I thought the party was next to where the players park. I was told it was on the other side of the Dome so I walked around. As I got to the Plaza, I noticed a line for autographs from a Twins Alumni player. Much to my surprise, I found out it was Frank Viola. I was real excited as I do not have a Frank Viola single signed ball in my collection so I waited. After waiting outside for three or so hours for the bobblehead, I did not feel like waiting longer but for Frankie V, I would. He showed up late but it was WAY worth it. He was really happy. Smiling and thanking US! I was thinking about which inscription I would ask for and decided on “Sweet Music”. As a 17 year old cheering on the team back in their World Series Championship in 1987 I remember the banner that always hung in right field for all his home starts and it had his nickname of Sweet Music on it so I went with it. I asked if he would please sign it with “Sweet Music” and he said no problem and did it. It was really neat. After I got it I headed to the hospitality party and by that time it was pretty much emptied out but I did grab some really good food. Unfortunately, I missed the featured speaker. In fact, I do not even know who it was. BUT, I am sure it did not beat getting a Frankie V autograph!
Also, today I received a really nice baseball signed by David Eckstein from my buddy Vince H. It is cool addition to my collection. I owe him!

This Blog Thing…
This is the first entry in what I hope to be many. My goal of this blog is to keep track of what autographs I get where and how. It will be fun to look back someday and remember when I got something signed… maybe.
