Today’s mail brought in the final 1986 Expos Provigo card I sent out. Andre Dawson signed his card in perfect blue Sharpie. The Hawk has an awesome signature too!

Pine Tar Game Fiasco
We all can recall something of the Pine Tar Game in which George Brett hit a home run and Billy Martin protested the game. A number of years ago I received a really cool story ball from Tim McClelland who was the home plate umpire. Today’s mail brought in a story ball from Davey Phillips. The umpire who provided an affidavit to the game’s conclusion’s umpiring crew that all players touched each base. He wrote about it on the ball as well as on a sheet of paper. He also included a signed card and a business card.

Wow! What a cool item I received today! Josh Martin recently posted in a Facebook group about offering a Rod Carew stat ball for sale. It looked pretty nice so I bought it and it arrived today. Years ago Reggie Jackson had a company that sold stat balls of different players and Carew was one. There are nineteen stats on the ball! It even came with the ReggieJackson.com card with the matching hologram sticker number! I love it! It is Rod’s old signature (pre-heart attack).
Another Debut!
Mid-September last season Bryce Eldridge was called up and made his Major League debut. MLB Legends was offering a signing with him this spring so I sent in the ticket and received it back today signed beautifully with “MLB Debut”. I also purchased a Leo DeVries signed baseball and that was with the ticket.
