Today I received a special issue Sports Illustrated that celebrated Fenway Park’s 100 years. SI issued two versions; one with an old black and white photo from 1965 and a newer colored photo. I sent the black and white one to Bobby Doerr a month or so ago along with $5 and got it back with the autograph all bubbled due to the glossy cover. I had even included a Staedtler to use. I removed the autograph and resent it with a note to please use the marker provided and another $5. It looks much better this time around. He included his HOF 86 on it as well.

Hummel & Carew
I am sure back in the day Rick Hummel wrote about Rod Carew at some point. Today they were reunited once again.
I received another addition to my baseball collection from Rick Hummel. He signed the baseball on the sweetspot and included the requested inscription “2006 HOF- J. G. Taylor Spink Award”. Nice ball to add to the collection!
I also received a card I needed for my Topps Twins collection. I bought the 1974 Topps All Star card signed by Rod Carew. Another card down!
The Other Kevin
I bought a 2010 Topps Kevin Slowey card from a person on Pat Neshek’s Website’s Message Board recently and got it yesterday. With Kevin no longer on the Twins team, and a notorious tough autograph to get when he was, I am glad to add it to my Twins Topps collection. I think I need two more Slowey cards to finish him off.
Holy Hal!
Today brought another nice baseball from the HOF 2002, JG Taylor Spink Award winner Hal McCoy. I sent it to him via the Baseball Hall of Fame. Another Spink Award winner!
