Not a Qual(m) In The World

I recently acquired a really cool Camilo Pasqual card from around 1970 (total guess) from when he played with the Caracas Leones team in the Venezuelan League. It is all in Spanish on the back and I do not read Spanish so I have no idea what it says but it is a pretty neat card. I sent it to Camilo to get signed. Since I did not want to send it alone, I found a 5″x7″ team photo from 1962 that I included with it. Camilo signed both in beautiful blue marker and signed my note with “Best of luck Kevin”. Camilo is awesome!

Hitting It Over The Wall(ner)

My brother and I went to the Twins game today. After the game Matt Wallner was signing autographs in Anoka up by our parents’ home so we met at mom and dad’s place and drove to the game together. We had a great time (even though we lost in the 9th) and afterwards headed to my parents. My brother realized he had an obligation and could not get to the signing so I headed there alone. Matt was set up in a back area at AME Sports and the line was pretty short but moved real slow. He was taking his time and photos with people. It was pretty cool. When I told him my tickets were from the last game my daughter and I went to before sending her off to her first year of college in Arizona and the team he walked off was the Arizona Diamondbacks. He thought that was pretty cool. He really liked my silver paint pen on the tickets too. I think they turned out amazing. Afterwards I headed home having enjoyed a long day of baseball events.
The items I got signed were:
2 OMLB (one for my brother)
OMLB with “2019 39th Overall Draft Pick”
Topps Now 08.06.2023 Walkoff HR card #14/49
2 tickets from 08.06.2023 signed with “1st MLB Walkoff HR”

The Little Bambino

On 07.22.2024 at 3:42 pm the Little Bambino was born. The Little Bambino is my niece’s son Felix and the superstar who made my brother a grandpa for the first time. I have seen so many photos and even a Facetime call to see the little man that I cannot wait to meet him face to face. He is absolutely adorable! He is going to be the biggest Twins fan in Montana! On my way into Target Field for the concert, my brother and his wife presented me with a baseball that has Felix’s foot print stamped on it with all the details of his birth. It is one of the coolest baseballs in my collection! Plus, it has a Twins logo on it. PERFECT! Just like Felix!

Ahh Nuts!

Today’s mail brought in a fun pair of items. Jerry D, via a Facebook group, posted that his father used to work with Gaylord Perry and he had a number of burlap peanut bags from Gaylord’s peanut farm that were signed and he was offering them for sale. I purchased a pair and they arrived today. Pretty cool oddball item for the collection!
