Today I received a really cool addition to my collection. On Opening Day, April 6, 1973 the Twins were at Oakland playing the A’s. With Catfish Hunter on the hill for the A’s and in his first at bat, Tony Oliva hit a home run becoming the first person to homer as a designated hitter. I acquired the ticket stub a couple months ago and sent it in for FanHQ’s autograph session with Tony O. Tony signed it with “1st DH HR”. Shaun and his crew at FanHQ do an awesome job with things.
