Wow! What a cool mail day today! Michael E (einho on SCN) had a private signing with Curt Schilling for charity on December 21st and got three items signed for me. The first was a ticket from his 3,000th game. He inscribed it “3000th K”. The second was the 11.08.2004 Sports Illustrated that already had Johnny Damon sign it. When Curt signed it, he told Michael “we are all LOADED drunk in this photo but you wouldn\u2019t know it. Photoshop is a wonderful thing. They took that pic at 7am when they got off the flight. We had been drinking for 86 years with the people.” That was neat but the coolest was Lanny Frattare’s scorecard from the game when Curt threw his first Major League complete game shutout. When Michael put this scorecard in front of Curt, he thought it was a ML Scout\u2019s scorecard. When he told him it was Lanny\u2019s card he was surprised that it was in such good condition after all these years. He looked at it and said “I had one strike out that day. Know who it was? Barry Bonds. Fastball in.” Amazing he remembered it. With Curt being inducted into the Hall of Fame soon (hopefully), these items are really cool additions to my collection!
