{"id":1816,"date":"2018-08-04T14:00:20","date_gmt":"2018-08-04T19:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.kemmetmueller.com\/?p=1816"},"modified":"2020-03-12T14:09:30","modified_gmt":"2020-03-12T19:09:30","slug":"yo-yo-yo-johan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.kemmetmueller.com\/?p=1816","title":{"rendered":"Yo Yo Yo Johan!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wow!\u00a0 What a day today!\u00a0 A couple months ago I read where tickets went on sale for the Twins Hall of Fame Breakfast and asked Cami if she wanted to go.\u00a0 Of course she said she did so I purchased a pair of tickets (Caden did not want to go).\u00a0 I did not know what to expect but since Johan Santana was being inducted this year, I thought it would be cool.\u00a0 Plus, there was an autograph event as part of it so I thought I would give it a shot.\u00a0 This event blew away any thoughts I had going into it this morning.\u00a0 Cami was unable to attend with me since she was invited to a friend&#8217;s cabin for the weekend and Caden had to work so Caden&#8217;s buddy Noah pinch hit for them.\u00a0 Noah and I were assigned table 12 to sit at.\u00a0 We got our food and sat down to eat.\u00a0 There was an empty seat at the table next to me and before I knew what was going on, Brad Radke sat down in that seat!\u00a0 He was assigned to our table!\u00a0 We chatted with him for a bit while we ate.\u00a0 What a really, really, really cool guy.\u00a0 And sincerely nice too!<br \/>\nAll the Hall of Famers in attendance were called up to the stage and were asked to speak about their career or what it meant to be a Minnesota Twin.\u00a0 John Gordon did a great job emceeing the event.\u00a0 After each person spoke, Johan Santana was introduced.\u00a0 Everyone clapped for him and gave him a standing ovation.\u00a0 It was pretty cool.<br \/>\non how he got the call from Rod Carew that he was inducted into the Twins HOF and what it was like being a teammate with his friends.\u00a0 There were a lot of former players there for him too.\u00a0 It was neat to see his family and friends in attendance as well.<br \/>\nAfter Johan spoke, people lined up for autographs.\u00a0 It was hot and the line was long but I felt like a little kid getting these guys&#8217; autographs.\u00a0 Noah was kind enough to get autographs for me as well.\u00a0 It was neat going through the line and seeing the players interact, etc with the fans and each other.\u00a0 Noah got a crazy photo of Bert Blyleven trying to bunt signed and Bert made a comment that he never figured out how to bunt.\u00a0 I got Bert to sign Lanny Frattare&#8217;s scorecard from 04.26.1978 when Bert threw an eleven inning complete game 1-0 shutout.\u00a0 He thought that was cool and took a moment to look over the names.\u00a0 I said his plate appearances were on the other side of the scorecard and he checked it out.\u00a0 He struckout swinging his first two at bats and looking the third at bat.\u00a0 He laughed that at least he went down swinging!\u00a0 And, he said, the strikeout pitch on the last strikeout was an outside pitch.\u00a0 &#8220;I remember!&#8221;\u00a0 It was pretty funny.\u00a0 When it was done I organized my items and headed home.\u00a0 The list of items I got signed today were:<br \/>\nTony Oliva:\u00a0 OMLB &amp; #10 Metrodome Seatback<br \/>\nBrad Radke:\u00a0 Four baseball cards<br \/>\nGreg Gagne:\u00a0 2 Signature cards<br \/>\nJim Perry:\u00a0 OMLB with 1970 AL Cy Young &amp; Signature card<br \/>\nTorii Hunter:\u00a0 Completed my 2002 ESPN magazine &amp;
