I was fortunate enough to be at the game when Dave Winfield got his 3,000th hit off Dennis Eckersley at the Metrodome. It was the first of three 3,000th hits I was able to witness. I got a ticket from that game signed by Dave at Twinsfest years ago but he did not inscribe 3,000th hit. Tom O (orr23mj on SCN) had a private signing with Dave recently and I had another ticket from that game so I sent it in as well as a 09.16.2022 Topps Now card (incidentally commemorating Dave’s 3,000th hit) and a 2022 Allen & Ginter card. Today I received the items. The items were all signed great but Dave missed the inscription on the ticket. I contacted Tom and he will be seeing Dave in February so I sent it back and he will add the inscription then.

The Arrow Hit the Bullseye
Chris Archer was a pitcher who played for the Twins for just the 2022 season but he has a pair of Topps cards as a Twin. Ryan S (Rls2239 on SCN) had a signing with Chris so I jumped at the chance to send them in. Today I received my two cards signed perfectly by Chris:
2022 #US233
2023 #465
I am excited to knock these two off my list!
No sMeares Here!
Today I received a signed Pat Meares card from jamesfun2collect on eBay. I needed a 1995 Topps #432 card and found it on eBay. It is signed in black Sharpie instead of blue but I am not picky for Meares’ card because they are not found frequently. I am excited to knock it off my Twins set need list!
Louie, Louie!
I saw a posting on Facebook that stated Louie Varland was signing at the Maplewood Mall here in the Twin Cities. It was a free event. I got up to go and Amy asked what I was doing and told her and she wanted to come along so we headed out. I got a baseball signed and Amy got a 2023 Topps and a 2023 Topps Heritage card signed for me. Louie was awesome. He was so friendly and personable. He said he is already excited for next season! It was a very pleasurable experience for us!
