A King, A Cy, and Spring Goodies

Today was a fun day to get mail!  I received three packages full of autographed goodies.
The first package I opened contained a pair of magazines signed by “The King” Richard Petty.  Mr Petty was kind enough to sign the March 1992 and December 1992 Stock Car Racing magazines in thin silver paint pen.  They look great!  I am going to give one to my brother who is a big NASCAR fan.
The second package I opened contained a pair of Sports Illustrated magazines signed by Jake Arrieta.  I never figured I would get one Jake Arrieta autograph in my collection much less two!  Pat Neshek started helping out collectors to get items signed from the Phillies for a nominal fee.  I mailed in some cards for Caden and a pair of SI’s for me.  I received the SI’s today.  They are both signed beautifully!  They are the 03.28.2016 and 10.10.2016 issues.  I cannot thank Pat enough for helping out fellow collectors.
The last package I opened contained a bunch of autographed items from spring training that Vinnie M (vinniemiller on SCN) got for me.  These items are:
Amir Garrett ML Debut tickets X3
Ariel Hernandez ML Debut tickets X2
Jesse Winker ML Debut ticket
Jimmy Sherfy ML Debut tickets X2
David Dahl ML Debut ticket
Alen Hansen ML Debut ticket
Pablo Sandoval ML Debut ticket
Francisco Mejia ML Debut tickets X2
Rob Refsnyder 1st Hit ticket
Jeff Mathis – 02.24.2003 Sports Illustrated
Vinnie has a bunch of other items for the visiting Seattle teams this season.  He does a fantastic job on my items and cannot wait to see what else he has for me this year!

Turn To Max

Today I received a pair of packages I am excited to add to the collection.  The first package contained the 10.30.2017 issue of Sports Illustrated signed by Justin Turner.  Mark B (renaissancemanla on SCN) got Justin to sign it at Albert Pujols’ golf event on March 1st.  It turned out great!
The other package was from Matt H (MattyIce on SCN) who lives near the Twins spring training complex and was able to hook me up with the following items signed beautifully in blue:
2017 Topps Heritage Phil Hughes #562
Max Kepler ticket with “Debut”
Max Kepler ticket with “1st HR”
It was a fun day of mail!

Happ(y) For The Thrill

Today I received a pair of packages of items that made me happy!
The first was an envelope where I received a 2017 Topps #554 card signed by Jason Castro.  Since Jason was not at Twinsfest, I was unable to get it signed so I was happy to add it via Matt W (invctrl on SCN).
The other package was my second of three packages I sent to spring training signings for MLAM.  This package contained a pair of Will Clark Sports Illustrated magazines… 05.28.1990 signed real nice in silver and 04.04.1988 (now to add Mark McGwire to it and finish it!).  It also had an Ian Happ ticket signed with “ML Debut”.  All items came with an MLB hologram on them.  I am real happy how they turned out!

Rice, Rice, Devers

Today I received a package that has been months in the making.  Not because of anyone’s fault but mine.  Earlier this week I was going through some of the tracking numbers that I still had outstanding and realized I had not received a package of a couple Jim Rice and a Rafael Devers autographs where the signing was back in November.  I went through my records and found that I mailed the items in to Sure Shot Promotions and had not received them back yet.  I found their website online and called them and Mike answered the phone.  I got the list of my items halfway out of my mouth when he said he was happy I called because he had them sitting there for a couple months.  He said he tried contacting me but did not have a phone number or email address.  I had enclosed a SASE but it must have been discarded when the items arrived and he was truly happy to hear from me and get the items to me.  Today I picked up my 10.27.1986 Sports Illustrated magazine that was already signed by Gary Carter and my 04.09.1979 Sports Illustrated magazine that was already signed by Dave Parker which are now both signed by Jim Rice.  Also included in my package was a debut ticket for Rafael Dever with “ML Debut” inscription.  All three are beautifully signed.  Mike did a great job on these and they finally came home.
